We met here the night before. Tom and Joe were already there when I pulled in around 11:30 or 12. Cori showed up shortly after.
Found a cabin on our way to the hike.
Found some girlie calendars- look at those guys faces!
Joe hangs the flag, we'll stay here tonight.
Cool woodburning stove
Tom G , Cori, Joe, me. (Epaulet behind my head)
Found a black widow under an old big can. Turned her over for a shot of the red hour glass, but my shot was out of focus, so posting this one instead.
Tom G (center ) coming up. We went straight up the slope to the top. We took that ridge going down.
Benchmark on Epaulet reads " Rhodes"
Tom arrives at the summit

Cori gives Tom his balls.
great colors , had a little spot of sun for a moment.
another shot of Jubilee
Heading across the plateau towards the ridge. We were trying to find Tom's dream rock.
Tom found it!! Amazing! It was the only one in fields of rocks. Very cool!
The ridge below
Cool bumps. A huge area was burned through here, all the way to the peak.
We were parked way down there by that little bump next to the shadow.
The lighting was nice on our long way out across the fan
Sky turning colors now.
old cactus. Looks like a saguaro, but that can't be. Don't grow out here.
Back at the vehicles. Note the green post. No more driving out here. We could have shaved about 2 to 2.5 miles one way off the hike if this road were open. It's all good.
Back at the cabin, Tom G finds out what wasabi is....the hard way!
Joe. When Tom mentioned a crash site that sounded really close, Joe jumped up and got his laptop to enter the coordinates. He had been waiting for us after his own day of exploration and was bored after dinner.
After a little while, Joe finds the crash site!
HA HA HA !! We really had him going! Good job, Tom G, planting the plane and coming up with the story. hee hee!
Joe with his cake Cori picked up. Really a nice one!
